The cool yet sunny environment of Craggy Range's Te Awanga Vineyard near Cape Kidnappers allows the development of intense Chardonnay flavours in the grapes, captured using traditional winemaking techniques seen in the Chablis region of France. The wine's colour transforms into a pale straw hue, instantly evoking the coastal essence of the vineyard. The bouquet carries hints of oyster shells, sea spray, and cashews, further reinforcing its seaside character. A sense of vibrancy and freshness on the palate is complemented by lively acidity that doesn't compromise flavour. Te Kahu means 'the cloak' in te reo Maori and refers to the mist that envelops Giants Winery in the Tukituki Valley. Legend has it that this mist was used to protect a mythical Maori maiden from the sun as she visited her lover Te Mata. This is a wine of richness and an abundance of black fruit flavours and a long structured finish. Deepest crimson red. Brooding aromatically with notes of cassis, black olive and dried tobacco enveloping a dense core of blue fruits. The wine has a lovely focus on the palate with dark fruits framed by fine tannins to deliver a classical structure with an excellent future ahead.

The McDonald Series wines are an expression of both their fruit and the vision of their namesake winemaker. An aromatic, textural Syrah with a core of rich berry fruit and dark plum, complimented by lifted floral notes, warm spice, liquorice and subtle oak. The palate is medium-weight and supple with a long finish. For quality reasons, this wine is unfined and unfiltered. Decanting is recommended.

Aromas of blackberry, ripe plum and cassis lift from the glass, layered with subtle smoky oak spice. The palate is youthful and plush, showing ripe, rounded fruit, fine tannin texture and a gentle line of soft acidity. Utterly moreish, it draws you straight back for another sip.

Upon release it has a subtle lemon hue. The bouquet is vibrant, an intoxicating assortment of tropical and citrus. Heady aromas of passionfruit and pineapple flirt temptingly against a backdrop of grapefruit, green apple, lemon peel and a hint of gunflint. The mouthfeel is textured yet precise, with a rousing whip of acidity and simmering phenolics that give the wine increased structure and length. A complex and serious Sauvignon Blanc, displaying intense varietal character, a multi- faceted palate, and a long salivating finish.

The wine exhibits some flinty sulphide notes over aromatics of green pepper, gooseberry and nettles with additional tones of passion fruit and lychee. The palate is fresh and vibrant with vibrant acidity balanced by weight and texture from the barrel fermentation and a long persistent gin and tonic like finish.

Individual parcels of Tempranillo and Merlot, grown in Craggy Range's Hawke's Bay Vineyards are carefully selected for balanced flavour and freshness. Harvested, then gently pressed for careful colour and flavour extraction. Brilliant blush rose in colour. Lifted juniper and rosewater perfume with underlying crushed wild berry fragrance. The palate has a textural succulence of raspberry and pomegranate fruits, finely balanced with a savoury phenolic line. Delicious.
